A New Series of Drawings: Meat Dies

I started work on a series of new drawings yesterday which I am calling Meat Dies. I made sketches of people’s faces in pencil on various colors of torn up packing paper and scrawled “Meat Dies” in their eyes (with thick red paint). It’s sort of like a reminder for me that everything has an expiration date; that “nothing gold can stay”. You need to be reminded of your mortality from time to time. It helps you to appreciate whatever time you have while you’re here.

I’m not entirely sure where this series is going yet. I have some plans for some different approaches to the subject matter. So I’ll give you a sample of a couple I did last night. I have 2 more but I’m not totally ready to show them yet. I need to think on this some more first. Anyways, enjoy these!
